American Idol is under way and four more people were voted off last night. John Park, Jermaine Sellers, Michelle Delamar and Haeley Vaughn were sent home. Now we're down to the top 16 which means Sean and I need to start placing bets to see who we think will win. We both agree that it's probably going to be a female since the guys aren't very strong this year. Here is the list of the top 16:
Crystal Bowersox, 24
Didi Benami, 23
Katelyn Epperly, 24
Lacey Brown, 24
Lilly Scott, 20
Paige Miles, 24
Siobhan Magnus, 20
Aaron Kelly, 16
Alex Lambert, 19
Andrew Garcia, 24
Casey James, 27
Lee Dewyze, 23
Michael Lynche, 26
Todrick Hall, 24
Tim Urban, 20
We've posted a clip of the girls singing the other night. Who do you think will win?

The Marriage Ref
If you watched the Olympics, you would have seen a ton of previews for The Marriage Ref which they aired right after closing ceremonies. Sean and I didn't watch it but it looks very interesting. The show involves real life couples who have been having an on going fight for a long time. A clip is shown to the celebrity panel, showing both sides of the argument. The panel then discuss the merits of each side of the argument and vote on who they think is right. The show is produced by Jerry Seinfeld, who served as a judge along with Kelly Ripa and Alec Baldwin in the first episode. It's going to be on Thursdays and you can catch the next one this week. We've posted a preview of the show below. The show seems very interesting and it could be quite entertaining.

Killer Whale Kills Trainer at Sea World
A Sea World trainer was killed yesterday by a killer whale during a show. The woman, Dawn Brancheau was leisurely rubbing the whale from a platform when he reached up, grabbed her with its mouth and dragged her under water. Workers rushed and tried to save her but it was to late. The whale apparently grabbed Dawn by her ponytail, pulled her under water and then held her under the water. The head of animal training at all Sea World parks, Chuck Tompkins said there was no indication that the whale was having problems earlier in the day. Tompkins also said that no decision has been made about what will happen to the whale. Sea World has also suspended the killer whale shows at all of its parks. Dawn's family said they viewed her death as an unfortunate accident and that the trainer wouldn't want anything done to the whale because she loved the animals like children. Either way it's a really sad story.

Are You Still Watching The Olympics?
We thought we would do an update to see if anyone is still watching the Olympics or to see if you ever started watching them this year. Sean has been watching hockey, curling and some skiing. I've been able to watch skiing and ice dancing which is my favorite sport to watch during the Olympics! Of course with the Olympics comes the endorsement deals for many athletes which is always a plus. We found this article on South Korean figure skater Yu-Na-Kim where her endorsement deal is reversed. She is really popular in Korea and she's under a lot of pressure to win, and if she doesn't then she loses her sponsorship contracts. She is expected to win gold this week and if she doesn't then there will be strong backlash. So far she has made $8 million in endorsements and hopefully it will stay that way. The U.S. is still in the lead with a total of 25 medals, Germany is in second with 21, Norway is in third with 14 medals and Russian Federation has 11 medals, taking fourth place. What's your favorite sport to watch during the Olympics?

Oprah Will Not Have John Mayer On Her Show

Usually when celebrities say or do something stupid, Oprah always lets them come on her show so they can ask for forgiveness. This is not going to be the case for John Mayer, who if you remember has dropped the n word, told bedroom secrets about Jessica Simpson and has talked bad about Jennifer Aniston. Oprah is not allowing him to come on the show because she is really good friends with Jennifer Aniston and says if he wants to apologize for the comments he has made then he should go somewhere else. You know it's a bad day when Oprah doesn't even want you on her show! Oprah does go on to say that the only way she would let him on her show is if he wants to have a deeper conversation about race, women and fame. Maybe John should have kept his mouth shut a long time ago and he wouldn't have gotten himself into this much trouble. What do you think about John Mayer?

2010 Winter Olympics
Opening ceremonies started on Friday in Canada for the Winter Olympics. Sean and I both agree that the ceremony always seems to be really long! We've watched some of the events but not many. What was really sad was the Georgian who died last week while in practice for the Luge. It was a tragedy that no one expected to happen. They ended up delaying practice for a few days until they changed the track. If you haven't seen the video, we posted it below. On a positive note, the U.S. is in the lead with 6 medals total. In second is Germany with 4, France and Canada are tied for third place, each earning 3 medals. Have you been watching?

Ellen Degeneres Joins The Judges Panel
The contestants finally made it to Hollywood which means Ellen Degeneres joins the judges panel. Sean and I think that Kara still needs to go and that Ellen brings a different perspective to Idol. She still uses her comedy when talking to the contestants. We both think that even though she doesn't have a singing background, she is still a fan who would listen and buy the music of the Idol winner. It will be interesting to see in the coming weeks how her and Simon get along. Are you happy with Ellen as a judge? Do you wish Paula Abdul was still on the show? We've posted a clip below with Ellen joining the group.

Super Bowl Commercials
It's been a few days but people are still talking about Super Bowl Commercials. Sean and I both agree that we only watch the Super Bowl for the commercials. We could care less about the actual game. We both liked the Snickers commercial with Betty White and a couple of the Bud Light ones were pretty funny too. We've posted a few below for you to check out. What was your favorite commercial?

Bikini Boy On American Idol
American Idol auditions continued in Denver last night with another round of freaks. Obviously these are the people that get the most attention who probably know they have no talent but still get recognized. The last tryout was this guy who showed up in a bikini trying to sing Billy Cyrus' Achy Breaky Heart song. All four judges walked out on him and he still stood there thinking they were going to come back. It's pretty funny to watch. We've posted the clip below!Monday, February 1, 2010
Lady Gaga At The Grammys

It's another awards show, which means it's time for Lady Gaga to wear another weird outfit. The one picture is her on the red carpet before the Grammys and the other outfit is from her performance. We know she likes the attention but what was she thinking? Sean is obsessed with Lady Gaga and thinks she's great, but I don't understand her! We've posted a clip from her performance at the grammys. Are you a Lady Gaga fan?

Millionaire Matchmaker

Have you ever watched Millionaire Matchmaker on Bravo? Sean and I have been talking about speed dating and online dating and I decided to watch this show last night. It was quite entertaining but I don't think I can get Sean to watch it. Patti Stanger owns this company that caters to wealthy men looking for partners. She's supposed to match single wealthy people with potential spouses. The episode I watched was where these two friends own this junk pick-up company and they were both searching for women. The one guy made his date pick up trash which she didn't seem to happy about it after stating she had just gotten a manicure. I don't want to admit that I will probably watch this show again and hopefully I can get Sean to watch one episode!

People Who Don't Deserve To Be Millionaires

We found this article that talked about undeserving millionaires and we agreed with the article. Here are some examples of people:
William Hung-Famous for being untalented.
Perez Hilton-The more annoying he gets, the richer he gets.
Jon & Kate-How they turned their creepy, boring lives into piles of cash will always remain a mystery.
Nadya Suleman-Another freak show exploiting her ability to procreate.
Jared Fogle-If you saw him in line in front of you at Subway, wouldn't you be tempted to beat him silly with a stale wheat bun?
Do you agree with the list? Are there other people you know who shouldn't be millionaires?

Conan O'Brien Is Leaving NBC

It's official that Conan O'Brien is leaving NBC. Tonight is his last show which will include guests Will Ferrell, Tom Hanks and Neil Young. We think Conan should go to Fox next year and that will teach NBC a lesson. Conan gets to leave with $45 million but will have to wait until at least September 1st until he can go back on TV. His staff should be thankful because they will get $12 million that will have to be divided up but not too shabby. Conan had Robin Williams on the show last night and it was pretty funny. We've posted the clip below. What do you think about Conan O'Brien leaving? Do you want Jay Leno to return?

Do You Lie About Being Married To Get Upgrades?
Earlier we talked about how being married has its privileges and even pretending to be married has its privileges. It's typical that a couple on their honeymoon could receive a room upgrade at their hotel or even an upgrade to first class on their flight. Even if you aren't married, this rule could still apply. Sean and I admit that we've pretended to be married to get a room upgrade or free drinks for the night. We wouldn't want to say we've lied, but really what's the harm in doing it just once. Have you ever lied about being on your honeymoon to get an upgrade or any other type of special treatment? Have you ever said it was your birthday to get something for free?

Pants On The Ground
Everyone has been talking about the contestant on American Idol who sang his original song Pants On The Ground in Atlanta the other night. Larry Pratt is a 63 year old civil rights veteran who sang the song and now it's become an internet sensation. Even Simon Cowell said he had a horrible feeling that this song could be a hit. Here's what David Cook said: "Caught the west coast feed of AI tonight. Pants On The Ground. Priceless." Pratt was on Access Hollywood and he's also supposed to appear on The View. He says he made up the song years ago saying it's about kids and older folks walking around with their pants down. We've posted the video below. It's really entertaining!

Another Season Of American Idol!
American Idol returned last night and they started the auditions in Boston. Our first favorite was the girl who was horrible but then kept saying Kara was Paula. She obviously didn't make the cut. Then there was Pat, a 17-year-old guy with a girly take on the Britney Spears song "Womanizer." He was aweful and told Simon he was sassier in person than on TV. There was also an Italian Boston guy who did really well and made it through to Hollywood. Then there was this creepy guy Andrew Fenlon who said he was irritated by the long wait to audition. This only made the judges angry, especially Kara who eventually said, "I am now angry at you, who I don't like at all." Victoria Beckham was the guest judge who then added that Fenlon was arrogant without the talent to back it up. Ouch that had to hurt!
Our favorite comment was regarding Norberto Guerrero, who the judges said he was flat and out of tune. Simon wrapped it up with "You sing like a three year old girl and dress like LaToya Jackson. The whole thing was weird." Idol is on tonight and they will be in Atlanta. We look forward to more horrible auditions!

It's Been A Quiet Year For Some Celebrities
A new year usually means more issues and scandals for celebrities. But so far it seems that everyone is taking a break and hiding out. Tiger is hiding out and staying out of the spotlight for now and even Miley Cyrus is behaving herself. We always love a good scandal so we're ready for them to start happening again. But Jon Gosselin never lets us down because there are rumors that he has a new girlfriend! Stay tuned for more details.

Another Season Of American Idol
Sean and I are ready for another season of American Idol! We are happy to report that Idol returns next week and of course it's a two night premiere. Sean likes it once they get to Hollywood, but I really like the auditions they show with all of the crazy people! It will also be interesting to have Ellen Degeneres as a judge and we can no longer make fun of Paula. Making fun of Paula and trying to figure out what she's saying was always our favorite part. But will Ellen correct Simon when he's being rude? We've posted a clip of some of the worst auditions throughout the years. Enjoy!

Do You Have Any Resolutions?
It's a new year which means time for resolutions! Did you make any resolutions? Sean and I said we wanted to go to the gym more and eat healthier. We were reading an article last week that said to not over do your resolutions. They suggested only making one resolution because it would be easier to stick with. The article also said that if you get off track then you shouldn't worry about it and to just get back on track as soon as you can. It's a new year which means new possibilities!
