Facebook and Myspace
So we talked this morning about people getting fired for posting comments on their Facebook or Myspace pages about their jobs. 13 people were fired from an airline for bad mouthing the company and their customers. We also read that an employee at a retail store got fired because she talked about her co-workers on Facebook. What do you think? Do you think it's fair if an employee gets fired for saying negative things about the company on these sites? Let us know.

Honestly, I sometimes get frustrated at work and need to vent to my friends via blog or facebook.
Obviously, i know enough to keep it generic online where EVERYBODY has access to it. I would never mention my company name in a rant. I think if you do that, you are asking to be dismissed from your company.
Perhaps people that blog inappropriate things deserve to be let go and replaced with some who won't ruin the company's reputation.
You bring up a very good point. It's one to thing to say something in general or name your company and then say stuff. Thanks for the comment!
